For a solo safari", an international plane ticket is required for a round trip to Kilimanjaro AIrport (JRO).

For a combined stay with Zanzibar, a domestic flight to Zanzibar (ZNZ) is then planned.

Domestic flights can also be added for " safari only " packages, upon request .

The 4 possible options for your arrival and departure

1. Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport - Departure from Zanzibar Airport

This is the most common option for a safari in Tanzania followed by a beach holiday in Zanzibar. You arrive on the mainland, begin your safari, and then end your trip in Zanzibar.

2. Arrival at Zanzibar Airport - Departure from Kilimanjaro Airport

This option is suitable for travelers who wish to start in Zanzibar and then continue with a safari on the mainland. It allows for a gentle introduction before the safari days.

3. Round trip Kilimanjaro airport

This option is also suitable for travellers who wish to combine a safari + Zanzibar stay, while keeping a return ticket to the same airport.

In this case, a domestic flight from Arusha to Zanzibar is added at the end of the safari, followed by a stay in Zanzibar. At the end of the trip, a domestic flight from Zanzibar to

Arusha is scheduled, followed by a transfer by car to Kilimanjaro Airport for the return international flight.

4. Round trip to Zanzibar airport

It is also possible to combine a stay with a return ticket to Zanzibar.

The stay then begins in Zanzibar, continues with a safari on the mainland (with domestic flight Zanzibar - Arusha), then ends in Zanzibar before the international return flight from

Zanzibar Airport (ZNZ).

Cost of airline tickets

A multi-destination flight (arriving at one airport and departing from another) is generally more expensive than a return flight to the same airport.

For this reason, some travellers choose a return flight to the same airport (Kilimanjaro or Zanzibar), in order to reduce the cost of tickets, while retaining the possibility of a combined stay thanks to domestic flights.
